Appropriation Magazine features a collection of poetry, creative nonfiction, fiction and visual art deliberately modeled after successful authors’ or artists’ prior works. The magazine entertains the idea that art serves to advance an already established work and to offer a unique interpretation of a past model, thus appropriating previous ideas. The aim of Appropriation is to comment on and reinvent a recognizable visual or literary piece through a refreshingly new artistic interpretation.
